The Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary in Idukki is home to several species, especially Indian grizzled squirrels which is one of the most endangered species on earth. Wildlife and deciduous trees make it an ideal place for his fans of trekking. Dry deciduous forests, high mountains and some grasslands contribute to the diversity of the protected area. During the trek, if lucky you will be able to see herds of gaurs and elephants. Spotted deer, sambar, hanuman langurs and peacocks are also common in the area.
