Known as 'Ooty of Kerala', Ranipuram is a rare trekking destination with panoramic views along sparsely populated, fog-covered lush grasslands. This place used to be called Madhathumala. This place is a hiker's and nature lover's paradise, surrounded by evergreen Shola forests, wildflowers, marshes and extensive meadows. The breeze here is said to have medicinal properties because the meadows here are full of lemongrass, which has antioxidant properties. If you are lucky, you can see wild elephants trekking up the mountain.
