The vicinity is dotted with few tribal settlements which offer an opportunity to study the way of life of tribes in the region.Get into the lap of generations old mighty teak trees and look around to enjoy an awesome sight. Here lies a wonder – globaly famed Conolly’s plot – the world’s oldest teak plantation which nurses Kannimaari, the oldest teak in the world. Conolly was a British national who was instrumental in introducing teak in Kerala and ofcourse in India.The vicinity is dotted with few tribal settlements which offer an opportunity to study the way of life of tribes in the region. Nilmbur’s teak plantations are spread over thousands of hectacres where dozens of Kovilakams (residences of the rulers of bygone period) mutely tell the story of past. Splendid ecological view of Adayanpara falls amidst dense forests and Valanthode falls beyond Chaliyar river are bonus to the visitors. Nilambur is only 40 km away from Malappuram.
